Sinead Harkin begins her HRB Summer Student Scholarship

Sinead Harkin, second year graduate entry medical student at University College Cork, begins her Health Research Board (HRB) Summer Student Scholarship with the Pregnancy Loss Research Group today.
Sinead will work with Professor Keelin O’Donoghue and Marita Hennessy PhD on a scoping review of bereavement care training for maternity staff following pregnancy loss and perinatal death. This will inform activities supporting the implementation of the national bereavement standards for pregnancy loss and perinatal death.
The HRB Summer Scholarships support undergraduate students in health or social care-related disciplines to complete short research projects during the summer. The purpose of the scholarship scheme is to encourage an interest in research and give students an opportunity to become familiar with research techniques.
