Tamara Escañuela Sánchez presented her latest study on behaviour change interventions for stillbirth at the Annual Psychology, Health, and Medicine Conference, organised by the Health Psychology Division of The Psychological Society of Ireland, last month.

Tamara also presented a brief overview of her PhD entitled ‘the RELEVANT project: Rethinking stillbirth through behaviour change interventions’. Funded by Science Foundation Ireland, the RELEVANT project strives to establish an evidence-based behaviour change intervention that addresses behavioural risk factors associated with stillbirth.

Tamara’s PhD work was supervised by Professor Keelin O’Donoghue, Dr Karen Matvienko-Sikar, Dr Sarah Meaney and Professor Molly Byrne; a multidisciplinary team including a consultant obstetrician, experts in public health and epidemiology, and health psychologists with experience in intervention design and implementation.

Tamara's participation in the conference was made possible through a generous bursary awarded by the Health Psychology Division, which supports the professional growth and participation of its members in such academic gatherings.

The conference took place on 26 May at the University of Limerick. It was attended by renowned health psychologists and esteemed researchers in the field of health psychology in Ireland, and provided an ideal platform for scholarly exchange and dissemination of research.
