University College Cork Clinical Pharmacy and General Practice Patient and Public Partnership

8 Oct 2024

University College Cork was proud to host the PPI Ignite Festival 2024, running from 1st to 31st October. As part of this national celebration of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), the Clinical Pharmacy group from the School of Pharmacy and the Department of General Practice held a kick-off event for our new PPI partnership on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024.

The joint goal of both research groups is to ensure that our research remains patient-centered by actively integrating the voices and experiences of patients and the public into the design and execution of our studies. This collaboration lays the groundwork for a sustainable framework that will guide future research, ensuring it remains relevant, impactful, and truly reflective of patient needs.

At this inaugural event, PPI contributors and researchers with shared interests in clinical pharmacy and general practice research came together. Through dynamic group discussions, participants collaborated to co-develop a PPI plan and terms of agreement for our new Clinical Pharmacy and General Practice PPI partnership.

The next step in our PPI vision is to consolidate the valuable perspectives, opinions, and insights gathered during this event, which will shape and inform the recruitment of our future PPI partners.
