School of Pharmacy Marks Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week

Dr Aoife Fleming and Dr Teresa Barbosa took an active role in World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW), engaging students on the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
This year's WAAW theme, 'Educate. Advocate. Act now', emphasises the urgent need for action against a global public health challenge that could potentially impact millions worldwide.
By promoting education and awareness, Drs Fleming and Barbosa are helping to equip future healthcare professionals with the knowledge needed to combat the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance and protect public health.
World Antimicrobial Awareness Week continues until 22 November, focusing on collaborative efforts to address this pressing global health issue.
