PhD Researcher Nancy Moore Wins Best Poster Award at EuPFI for Second Consecutive Year
PhD researcher Nancy Moore was awarded the PCCA Prize for Best Poster Presentation at the 18th Conference of the European Paediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI), held in Salzburg, Austria, from 15–17 September 2026.
Nancy received the award for research assessing the suitability of deep ultraviolet spectroscopy for detecting low-level degradation in neonatal dopamine infusion samples.
The research aims to support the quality and safety of medicines used in neonatal care by evaluating a rapid spectroscopic method that could detect early signs of drug degradation in medicines prepared in healthcare settings or at the point of patient care.
It builds on her work presented at EuPFI in 2025, which assessed the stability of neonatal dopamine infusions using conventional quality control techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Nancy is an early career researcher within the SSPC Research Ireland Centre for Pharmaceutical Research and the EPSRC–Research Ireland Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies. The research was conducted in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) at Munster Technological University.
Congratulations to Nancy on this achievement and on receiving the award for the second consecutive year.
