Emeritus Professor Caitriona O’Driscoll joins the Board of Ireland’s Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA)

Professor Caitriona O’Driscoll, Emeritus Professor at the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork, has been appointed to the Board of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).

Professor O’Driscoll has made a significant contribution to pharmacy, pharmaceutical science and healthcare throughout her career, together with extensive experience in national leadership and advisory roles.

She previously served on the Board of the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) and was a member of the Department of Health’s Expert Taskforce to Support the Expansion of the Role of Pharmacy. She is also Director of UCC Futures – Future Medicines, a University-wide research initiative focused on the development of innovative medicines and healthcare solutions.

Commenting on her appointment, Professor O’Driscoll said:

“I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to the HIQA Board, an organisation I have always admired for the importance and impact of their work on many aspects of Irish society.”

In 2024, Professor O’Driscoll was elected a member of the Royal Irish Academy in recognition of her contribution to pharmaceutical science and research.
