Dr Kieran Walsh, Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer, nominated to Young Academy of Ireland

Congratulations to Dr. Kieran Walsh, MPSI, Senior HTA Analyst (HIQA) and Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer (School of Pharmacy UCC) on being been inducted into the newly formed Young Academy of Ireland (YAI) of early-career researchers and innovators.  The YAI consists of forty members from Ireland and Northern Ireland and members were selected after a competitive recruitment process launched by the Royal Irish Academy last year. 

The successful candidates include researchers, academics, scientists, innovators, clinicians, economists, and professionals who have each made a significant contribution to their field and beyond their individual disciplines. Members represent a multi-disciplinary platform from the Life Sciences, Physical, Engineering, and Computer Sciences, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Technology. Dr. Walsh studied his pharmacy degree at the School of Pharmacy UCC and completed his PhD in Clinical Pharmacy, under the supervision of Prof Stephen Byrne, School of Pharmacy, UCC; Dr Suzanne Timmons, Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation, UCC; Prof John Browne, School of Public Health, UCC; Dr Jennifer McSharry, School of Psychology, NUIG.  His research interests include evidence synthesis, HTA methods, mixed-methods research, SARS-CoV-2, inappropriate prescribing and dementia. https://www.ucc.ie/en/pharmacy/people/adjunctclinicalseniorlecturerkieranwalsh/
