On 20 January 2026, Cell Explorers Cork and WiSTEM UCC welcomed primary school students from Scoil Maria Assumpta and Saint Patricks Girls National School on campus where they had talks and workshops on the importance of STEM.

Along with members of the WiSTEM organizing committee, volunteers from our 3rd year Pharmacy class did a superb job in explaining to the children how cells work. Along with their teachers, they were full of praise and gratitude for all those involved. They had a really good time. Sincere thanks to Rhea Lukose, Ellie Cooney Lynch, Sadhbh Ryan, Meabh McCarthy, Paula Capatici, Sophie Rafter, Rachel Desmond, Rachel, O’Brien, Áine Barry, Ellen Bracken, Aidan Power, Isobel Hynes, Ha Trang Nguyen and Mary Ellen Corkery for being inspirational role models and outstanding ambassadors for our School and for our University. Thank you and well done!
