Prof Caitriona O’Driscoll Highlights Advances in RNA Delivery at International Workshop
Professor Caitriona O’Driscoll was invited to deliver a masterclass at the 2nd Bicyclos International School and Workshop, ‘Cyclodextrins in Health and Disease’, held in Sevilla, Spain, from 18 to 20 February 2026.
Her talk, 'Cyclodextrins in Gene Silencing', explored how these modified molecules, non-toxic and versatile biomaterials, can be formulated into bespoke nanoparticles for the targeted, non-viral delivery of therapeutic RNA.
The workshop brought together leading researchers and industry professionals from across healthcare and related disciplines, with sessions covering artificial intelligence in molecular design, intellectual property, and science communication.
Professor O’Driscoll’s invitation reflects the growing international recognition of research in the School of Pharmacy, particularly in the area of advanced drug delivery systems and gene-based therapies.
