The Discipline of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy welcomed its newest intake of Radiation Therapy students with a themed snack table on World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD).

The team also shared the importance of the profession the students are joining.

Radiotherapy plays a vital role in cancer care:

  • It can cure cancer.
  • It improves survival and quality of life.
  • It is needed by about half of all people diagnosed with cancer.

Yet, access to radiotherapy remains a major global challenge, with millions of patients worldwide unable to receive the treatment they need.

The Discipline looks forward to inspiring, educating, and supporting the future radiation therapy workforce.
