The Discipline of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy brings together academic and clinical experts to advance education, research, and leadership by radiographers and radiation therapists.

Research is one of the three ways we pursue that mission - research that contributes to the evidence base and improves diagnosis and treatment for patients.

Our staff research and publish across a broad range of areas, including:

• Radiation dose optimisation and digital radiography
• Artificial intelligence and image interpretation
• Imaging informatics
• CT, MRI and mammography
• Radiation oncology and medical physics
• Patient experience and inclusive practice in imaging
• Radiography education and workforce development

We also supervise doctoral research through UCC's PhD in Medical Imaging and Radiation Science.
