Wi-Fi Services for Visitors and Guests
University College Cork offers secure and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity for staff, students, and visitors. Our primary service, eduroam, provides seamless access on campus and across participating institutions worldwide. For guests without eduroam credentials, we also offer dedicated visitor Wi-Fi options to keep you connected during your time at UCC.
UCC Wi-Fi Service – eduroam
The wi-fi service provided to staff and students in UCC is called eduroam (educational roaming). Not only does this service provide Wi-Fi access on campus, but it also allows you to access Wi-Fi in many other educational institutions across the globe.
To access the service, you simply connect with your UCC email address and password. Android devices do require further details to be configured.
See the Connecting to eduroam SharePoint page for further details.
If you are visiting from another institution and having issues connecting, please contact your home institution for support.
Visitor Wi-Fi
We also provide Wi-Fi to visitors of UCC that may not already have an eduroam account. All UCC staff have access to provide these accounts directly.
See the Visitor and Event Wi-Fi SharePoint page for more information.
As a visitor, you can ask the UCC staff member you are dealing with to get you access via the above link.
Building and Room Information
Find essential details about UCC’s campus spaces, including building locations, room layouts, and facilities. This section helps you navigate the university efficiently and access the resources you need for teaching, learning, and events.
Our Buildings Page gives a breakdown on a classroom's capacity and available equipment, along with a 360 view of the room.
Bring Your Own Identity (BYOID) at UCC
What is BYOID?
Bring Your Own Identity (BYOID) allows external parties such as external examiners or project collaborators to use credentials from their home institution or personal accounts instead of UCC issuing them a separate account. Since moving to Office 365, this occurs when someone shares a document or folder via OneDrive or Teams with a non-UCC email address. BYOID has replaced sponsored/affiliate accounts for external users who need to log into Canvas.
