About Self Service Password Reset (SSPR)
Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) enables you to reset your @ucc.ie password anywhere, anytime without the need to contact our Service Desk. Self Service Password Reset can be used when you have forgotten your password, your password has expired, you wish to reset/change your current password or you want to unlock your account.
To use Self Service Password Reset (SSPR), you must have Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) already configured for your account and have access to the phone used with it.
How to Reset/Change your Password using SSPR
1. In a browser, navigate to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
2. Enter your UCC email address in the User ID field and the displayed characters in the field below. Click Next.
3. Select I forgot my password and click Next.
4. Select 'Text my mobile phone' or 'Call my mobile phone' (whichever is your preference) and enter in your mobile phone number that you have registered with your account.
5. You will then be sent a verification code to your mobile. Enter the verification code and click Next.
6. Enter your new password in the new and confirm new password fields. Click Finish.
7. You will see a message to confirm your password has been successfully reset.
Please ensure you update all your devices (phones, tablets, and PCs) with your new password!
Issues
If you are unable to reset or change your password using the SSPR tool, please log a ticket with IT Services on the Services Portal.
