The College of Medicine and Health Conferring Ceremony for the School of Medicine and Cork University Dental School will take place on Friday, 30 May 2025.
For Medical and Dental Conferrings, taking place on Friday, 30 May 2024 and for Summer Conferrings, taking place on Friday, 20 June 2025 you must pay all outstanding fees in full and fulfill all academic requirements, to be eligible to graduate.
Invitations will be sent to all eligible students in due course.
Receiving your parchment
Degree parchments will be distributed by the President on the day of your ceremony.
Graduates who cannot attend on the day will be conferred 'in abstentia'.
Your parchment will be sent via post to the permanent home address on your file. You must include your Eircode, postcode or ZIP code and your mobile telephone number (including country code). Please ensure we hold the correct address for you via your student admin portal by your ceremony date.
Academic robes
The conferrings ceremony is a formal event and all graduands are required to wear academic robes, also known as academicals, for their ceremony. It is not permitted to alter, add to, decorate or embellish your academicals. Additional items, such as flags or banners, are prohibited.
Gown hire
McGinley Academic Dress Hire will be based in the Dora Allman room throughout the Medical and Dental and Summer 2025 Conferrings, located on the fourth floor of the Hub in UCC to facilitate the collection and return of acdemicals.
Lafayette Photography will be based in the Atrium throughout the Medical and Dental and Summer 2025 Conferrings, located on the ground floor of the Hub.

Your Conferring Ceremony
The conferring ceremony will take place in Devere Hall on UCC's main campus and will take approximately 45 minutes. You must attend Devere Hall at least 30 minutes before the ceremony commences for your roll call. The doors open for guests seating 40 minutes ahead of the ceremony. During your ceremony, you will be seated with your cohort in alphabetical order. The President will address you and the Head of College will call your name as part of the roll call.
Guest Tickets
You are entitled to bring two guests to your ceremony. Please collect your tickets at the check-in desk on the ground floor of the Hub building on campus prior to your ceremony.
