Standing strong as you get older- Senior Lecturer Ruth McCullagh highlights importance of Falls Management in the Irish Examiner

Ireland’s population is ageing rapidly, with the number of people aged 65 and over continuing to rise. As we live longer, supporting healthy, independent ageing becomes increasingly important. One key part of that support is effective Falls Management. Preventing falls helps older adults maintain confidence, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Ruth McCullagh, Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Physiotherapy, featured in the Irish Examiner last week, where she discussed practical, evidence‑based strategies to reduce falls among older adults. Her contribution underscores the value of proactive measures that can help individuals remain active and steady for longer.
