School Staff Contribute to HSE Dementia Workshop During Alzheimer's Awareness Month
September marks Alzheimer's Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of dementia and recognise the importance of supporting those living with the condition, their families and carers.
As part of Alzheimer's Awareness Month, Emma Gleeson, Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy, and Trish O'Sullivan, Lecturer in Physiotherapy, represented the School of Clinical Therapies at a Health Service Executive (HSE) dementia workshop on 3 September. Pictured with fellow workshop speakers, they contributed their expertise to discussions on dementia care and support, highlighting the School's commitment to dementia-related education, research and practice.
Their involvement highlights the multidisciplinary contribution of the School to dementia-related education, research and practice, as well as our ongoing collaboration with the HSE.
Across Ireland, organisations and communities are marking Alzheimer's Awareness Month through a range of awareness-raising activities, including the illumination of Cork City Hall in blue to shine a light on dementia awareness.
