Creative Corona - Creative Writers produce short reads in this special series

During an April of lockdown, this series shared a daily dose of poems and short stories from the community of writers associated with the MA in Creative Writing at UCC. The online "Creative Corona" series features students, graduates and established writers associated with Creative Writing at UCC.
"Creative Corona" was initially started to provide a shared online platform for MA creative writing students whose courses had been suspended due to COVID-19. Such was the response that the initiative was broadened to include writing contributions from graduates, faculty and established writers associated with the MA. The creative works were published daily during the month of April and offered as a free resource for everyone. The brief was open but many contributors chose to write about the effects of the virus or picked writing that had particular resonance with the current crisis. The initiative was delivered in collaboration with the Munster Literature Centre, O Bheal and Fiction at the Friary.
The platform was shared with the wider writing community and members of the public. Alongside the Creative Corona series, Creative Writing at UCC are running a poetry translation contest which is open to the general public.
