Launch of new National Guidelines on appropriate prescribing of psychotropic medication for non-cognitive symptoms in people with dementia

On 5th December, 2019, Minister for Health Simon Harris TD launched a new National Clinical Guideline on the appropriate prescribing of psychotropic medication for non-cognitive symptoms in people with dementia. 

On 5th December, 2019, Minister for Health Simon Harris TD launched a new National Clinical Guideline on the appropriate prescribing of psychotropic medication for non-cognitive symptoms in people with dementia. The guideline was developed by a national multidisciplinary group co-chaired by Dr Suzanne Timmons in the Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation, School of Medicine (in her role as Clinical Lead for the  HSE National Dementia Office) and Professor Stephen Byrne, School of Pharmacy. The guideline is available on the Department of Health website.
