Communities of Care: Dementia and Mental Health
Wednesday 13 October, 7-8pm
This collaborative event between the UCC Alzheimer’s Society and the UCC SÁMH (Suicide Awareness & Mental Health) Society focusing on dementia-specific care in the local Cork community along with mental health issues faced by the elderly.
In this public online event, care service providers and researchers share practical information about geriatric mental illness and dementia, in addition to providing an example of dementia-specific care in the local Cork community.
Our guest speakers:
- Vanessa Bradbury, Dementia Advisor, Bessboro Day Care Center,
- Dr. O'Shea, Postdoctoral Researcher, UCC Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation,
- Dr. Mullan, Consultant Psychiatrist at CUH.
The UCC Alzheimer's Society donates all proceeds from its events to the Bessboro Day Care Centre, which provides dementia specific care to the local Cork community.
Join our Community Week event to learn more about Bessboro servies and caring for dementia health and mental health for older people in the community.
