23 Apr 2018
Matt Moran, Director, BioPharmaChem Ireland, presents the Collaboration Achievement award to Emanuel Popovici, Embedded.Systems@UCC & Andryi Temko, INFANT Research Centre.

A Brain Stethoscope Design scoops first prize in the Collaboration Achievement at the 2018 Irish Laboratory Awards. This work is focussed on the development of a ‘brain stethoscope’ -  a portable device that will allow a medical professional to listen to an infant’s brainwaves and quickly assess their brain health status.

The collaboration involved Tyndall (provision of microneedle-based dry electrodes), Embedded.Systems@UCC (electronic system level design), and the SFI Infant Centre (EEG signal processing, physiology, clinical expertise).
