The conference showcased research performed by staff and students across the College of Medicine and Health (CoMH). The theme was ‘Futures’, to reflect the launch of UCC Futures, an ambitious new programme of research prioritisation as part of UCC’s Strategic Plan 2023 - 2028.

Speaking about the conference, Professor Helen Whelton, Head of College of Medicine and Health UCC said: “We work with exceptional researchers. Their pioneering work, their ideas, their innovative proposals transform their research into impact that helps transform human lives, advances economic development and addresses global grand challenges in health and disease”.

UCC President Professor John O’Halloran said: “The CoMH Futures Research Conference is an important opportunity to celebrate the research being undertaken by UCC researchers, investigators, postgraduate and undergraduate students. UCC’s research community will come together to showcase their work to find solutions for some of the world’s challenges, driving advances to shape the future of healthcare and promote the good health and well-being for all at all ages.”
