Dr Tamara Escañuela Sánchez and Ruadh Kelly-Harrington presented at the 20th Annual Psychology, Health and Medicine Conference, held at University College Cork on Friday 31 May.

Tamara presented a lightning talk on using the Behaviour Change Wheel framework to design a behaviour change intervention to address behavioural risk factors for stillbirth, conducted as part of the RELEVANT project which she leads. This work brings together findings from a series of studies undertaken by Dr Escañuela Sánchez during her doctoral studies. Tamara is now a Postdoctoral Researcher with the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre.

In her oral presentation, Ruadh provided an overview of findings on workplace experiences of early pregnancy loss in Ireland from a mixed-methods survey study conducted as part of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth-commissioned PLACES project.

The Psychology, Health and Medicine Conference is held by the Division of Health Psychology of the Psychological Society of Ireland in association with the Division of Health Psychology of the British Psychological Society Northern Ireland Branch. It is a key annual event for people working in the areas of psychology, health and medicine in Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as further afield. The aim of the conference is to promote health psychology and to provide a forum for sharing high-quality research findings on psychology and health. The conference attracts practitioners and researchers from psychology, health, and many related fields, fostering opportunities to build and strengthen professional networks.

The 2024 conference was hosted by the School of Applied Psychology, University College Cork. Congratulations to Co-Chairs Dr Samantha Dockray and Dr Sarah Foley and all involved on the Organising Committee on a successful and inspiring event.
