Dr Daniel Nuzum awarded International Partnership for Perinatal Excellence Certification

15 Jul 2025

Dr Daniel Nuzum was awarded certification as a healthcare professional in perinatal excellence by the International Partnership for Perinatal Excellence (IPPE) in July 2025.

Being a certified member of IPPE means joining a team of dedicated professionals who committed to collaboration, compassion, and continuous learning to make a positive impact in the lives of mothers, babies, and families. The certification process follows an online training programme and assessment and has dedicated strands appropriate to the discipline of care.

As part of the global drive to reduce preventable stillbirth and to improve perinatal bereavement care, this international certification is another way to collaborate with professional global organisations committed to excellence in perinatal care. Highlighting the importance and value of spirituality in perinatal loss, Daniel is delighted to be the first pastoral care professional to receive this certification.

Closer to home, evidence-based training in perinatal bereavement care is also an important part of the educational work of the Pregnancy Loss Research Group where the TEARDROP (Teaching, Excellent, pArent, peRinatal, Deaths-related, inteRactions, tO, Professionals) Workshop has been successfully provided for a number of years.
