Congratulations to Dr Caroline Joyce on her appointment as Adjunct Clinical Lecturer

Dr Caroline Joyce was recently appointed Adjunct Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University College Cork following a competitive process.
Dr Joyce is a Principal Clinical Biochemist at Cork University Hospital, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists London. She graduated with her PhD from University College Cork in October 2024. Her PhD, titled “Evaluation of biomarkers for the diagnosis, management and follow-up of women with gestational trophoblastic disease”, was funded through the Irish Research Council Employment-Based Postgraduate Programme.
Caroline remains actively involved in research and is currently co-supervising Dr Aoife Corcoran’s doctoral studies through the CODING project which aims to develop a Core Outcome Set for the Treatment of Women with Gestational Trophoblastic Disease. She is also a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Graduate Studies Committee.
Internationally, Dr Joyce is an active member of the European Organisation for Treatment of Trophoblastic Diseases (EOTTD), and recently attended the 13th EOTTD Meeting in Madrid along with colleagues from Cork University Maternity Hospital.
