UCC researchers receive both prizes awarded at the annual meeting of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists held at Trinity College on November 11th.

For the second year in a row, young UCC researchers have received both prizes awarded at the annual meeting of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists held at Trinity College on November 11th.

Robert Callaghan (MPharm student) received the prize for the best oral presentation for his study titled “Quantitative analysis of the use of non-sensorimotor behavioural tests in the experimental stroke literature” (supervised by Drs Rachel Moloney and Christian Waeber). Lianne Mulder (PhD student in the School of Pharmacy, supervised by Dr Piotr Kowalski) was awarded the prize for best poster for her study “Delivery of Tie2 mRNA to the endothelium as a novel strategy for the treatment of sepsis-induced multiple organ failure”.
