Sophia Hoffman Wins 1st Prize for Oral Presentation at the All Ireland Schools of Pharmacy Annual Research Conference 2024

Congratulations to Sophia Hoffman, Doctoral researcher in the School of Pharmacy, on winning the 1st prize award for oral presentation at the All Ireland Schools of Pharmacy Annual Research Conference held at RCSI, Dublin, on the 27th and 28th of August 2024.
Sophia’s PhD is part of the GENEGUT project, which is funded under Horizon Europe. The overall aim of GENEGUT is to create a first-of-its-kind, game-changing treatment for ileal Crohn’s disease, addressing a significant unmet medical need. Sophia’s project focuses on site-specific drug delivery of encapsulated RNA therapies to the lower gastrointestinal tract.
Her PhD is supervised by Prof Brendan Griffin, Dr Joey O’Shea (School of Pharmacy), and Dr Vincent Jannin (Lonza, Capsugel).
