School of Pharmacy Staff Contribute to UCC Good Practice Symposium on Belonging
Dr Bronagh Clarke, School Manager, and Ruth McCarthy, Practice Education Co-ordinator, presented posters at the 2026 University College Cork Good Practice Symposium, held on 19 May 2026. Organised by UCC’s Quality Enhancement Unit, this year’s symposium focused on the theme of Belonging.
The symposium featured case studies and initiatives that support belonging across UCC, defined as the shared experience of feeling welcomed, valued, respected, and able to fully participate in university life. Submissions explored a broad range of areas including teaching, learning, research, professional services, training, systems, and organisational development.
Bronagh’s poster, Building Belonging with Communities of Practice, centres on the School Managers’ Community of Practice, an initiative supporting collaboration, peer learning and the sharing of good practice, helping to strengthen connection and continuous improvement across UCC.
Ruth’s poster, Developing a Community of Practice for Work-Integrated Learning in UCC, considers how staff involved in placements and experiential learning can connect through shared resources, peer exchange and university-wide learning.
It is fantastic to see School of Pharmacy staff contributing to initiatives that support belonging, belonging, innovation and continuous improvement across the wider university community.
