School of Pharmacy Researchers Present at World Pharmaceutics Meeting in Prague
There was strong representation from School of Pharmacy, UCC staff and PhD researchers at the 15th World Meeting on Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics, and Pharmaceutical Technology, held in Prague from 23–26 March 2026.
Staff and PhD researchers made a significant contribution to the scientific programme. Nine PhD students presented their research through poster presentations, while three students were selected to deliver oral presentations, highlighting the quality of research being undertaken within the School. Topics presented by UCC researchers at the meeting include oral drug absorption, gene-based therapies, transdermal drug delivery, and personalised medicine, among others.
This work reflects the strong support of key funding bodies, including Research Ireland, SSPC, the CDT in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies, the Horizon Europe Project GENEGUT, and Fulbright. The research also benefits from close collaborations with industry partners such as Merck and Lonza, as well as academic collaborators, including Munster Technological University and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
The School's presence at this major international meeting reflects its ongoing commitment to high-impact pharmaceutical research.
