29 Mar 2021

Congratulations to Ciara Kenny and Katie Cody MPharm4 who participated in HFTC.

Four students from the College of Medicine and Health recently represented UCC at the National Health Fusion Team Challenge competition which was hosted online by the University of Limerick, Health Sciences Academy on 24th March. This is an annual, intervarsity challenge where an interprofessional team of students present a patient management plan that they have developed collaboratively. The UCC student team were: Ciara Kenny (Pharmacy MPharm4), Katie Cody (Pharmacy MPharm4), Maria O'Sullivan (Final year Medicine) and Aisling Reid (MSc Physiotherapy). The team were commended on their energising presentation which demonstrated a clear understanding of the contribution of a multidisciplinary healthcare professional approach to the care of a patient with gestational diabetes. The team was mentored by Dr Aoife Fleming, School of Pharmacy and supported by the Department of Physiotherapy and School of Medicine.
