Pharmacy students present at Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice conference April 2022
Well done to Mercy University Hospital Pharmacist Margaret Horgan for her oral presentation:
A feasibility study of a pharmacist led proton pump inhibitor deprescribing intervention in older patients in an Irish hospital.
at the Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice April 2022 annual conference.
The presentation generated great interest and was conducted by Margaret as her research thesis for the Masters in Clinical Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr Aoife Fleming and Mr Ciaran Halleran, Chief Pharmacist Mercy University Hospital. Congratulations to Alnis Balchaites whose MPharm research project was presented as a poster at the Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice conference April 2022. Alnis research was titled:
Exploring the human factors of medication errors in community pharmacy: a mixed methods study.
The project applied a novel methodology using Human Factors frameworks to investigate medication errors in community pharmacy.
The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr Aoife Fleming and Dr Suzanne McCarthy.
