Fatma El-Komy Successfully Defends PhD Thesis on Patient-Centred Cardiovascular Medicines Research
The School of Pharmacy congratulates Fatma El-Komy, who has successfully defended her PhD thesis titled Medicines Optimisation in Cardiovascular Diseases
Supervised by Dr Margaret Bermingham, Dr Michelle O’Driscoll, Prof Laura J Sahm, and Prof Stephen Byrne, Dr El-Komy’s research demonstrates the importance of stakeholder engagement and public-patient involvement in co-developing interventions to support medicines use in people who have experienced myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Dr El-Komy is a graduate of Future University in Egypt, a university with which UCC has a partnership agreement.
The School extends its thanks to Professor Vibhu Paudyal, King’s College London and Dr Kevin Murphy, UCC for serving as examiners, and warmly congratulates Dr El-Komy on this significant achievement.
