Dr Paul McCague shares insight on revolutionizing UK pharmacy curriculum at School of Pharmacy event

On Wednesday 3 May 2023, the School of Pharmacy hosted Dr Paul McCague, who presented his talk titled "Transforming the MPharm for Future Pharmacists". The talk highlighted the exciting reforms in the UK pharmacy curriculum including the embedding of pharmacist prescribing in the undergraduate programme.

Biography

Paul McCague is a qualified Pharmacist and Reader (Education) and Director of Student Engagement & Support at the School of Pharmacy, Queen's University Belfast. He previously held lectureships at University College Cork and Liverpool John Moores University. Paul has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr McCague has a strong commitment to research led teaching and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). He has disseminated numerous educational initiatives at national and international conferences as well as publication in peer reviewed journals. He has practiced in community and hospital sectors in Ireland and the UK, and continues to carry out locum work.
