5th year MPharm student Maria Carey recently presented her research at the Health Services Research & Pharmacy Practice (HSRPP) Conference, held virtually from the University of Bath.

Maria's project, which examined patient knowledge of direct oral anticoagulant medications, was funded by the Health Research Board Summer Student Scholarship.   

Maria was awarded a DayLewis Scholarship to attend the conference. Maria's work was supervised by the research team from UCC School of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Department of Cork University Hospital, Dr Suzanne McCarthy, Dr Erin Crowley and Dr Virginia Silvari, and supported by work by Dr Laura Sahm, UCC and Dr Isabelle Arnet,  the University of Basel, and Mr Keith O'Hourihane, Pharmacy First Plus.
