UCC School of Law hosts World Congress

The School of Law is immensely proud to welcome the 7th World Congress on Family Law and Children’s Rights to Dublin this weekend.
The local organising committee for the event is chaired by Professor Ursula Kilkelly (Dean) together with Senior Lecturers Dr Conor O'Mahony and Dr Louise Crowley.
Family Law and Children’s Rights remain exciting, challenging and fast moving areas of legal scholarship and practice and the World Congress has established itself as the leading international forum for discussion and deliberation on these issues.
The event will see more than 150 expert speakers drawn from the global judicial, academic, and practitioner communities coming together in Dublin’s Convention Centre to share their knowledge and experience with 600 delegates over four days, between June 4 to 7.
The School of Law is at the forefront of scholarship in the areas of family law and children's rights and is home to Ireland’s only LLM in Child and Family Law and unique Clinics in Child Law and Family Law respectively.
At the Congress Professor Kilkelly and Drs O’Mahony and Crowley will each present an insight into their research, which ranges from the use of developmental science in both the juvenile justice and child welfare systems; the constitutional protection of children’s rights and the reform of Irish divorce laws.
