UCC subjects ranked in world’s top 100

  • Nursing, Law, Agriculture and Forestry, Anatomy and Physiology all ranked first in Ireland.

UCC has been named as one of the world's top universities for the study of 25 subjects according to the latest world subject rankings.

Nursing (33), Law (59), Agriculture and Forestry (61), Pharmacy and Pharmacology (99), Anatomy and Physiology (51-100) have all been ranked in the top 50 and top 100 in the world, by the QS World University Subject rankings published today.

Performing Arts (101-120), English Language and Literature (101-150), Modern Languages (151-200), Medicine (151-200), make up the nine UCC subjects featuring in the top 200 globally. Anatomy and Physiology, Nursing, Physics, Education and Law all improved their ranks this year.

Law at UCC has risen from 75th in the world to 59th and is again Ireland's leading Law School for the second year in a row. Nursing, Agriculture and Forestry, and Anatomy and Physiology also remain first in Ireland.

This year's rankings included 1,597 institutions from 161 countries. The rankings are based on several different indicators including the breakdown of more than 16 million research publications and over 130,000 expert opinions from across higher education.
