UCC welcomes higher education strategic funding
University College Cork (UCC) today welcomes the awarding of funding under the Higher Education Strategic Infrastructure Fund (HESIF).
The HSIEF is a strategic scheme for capital investment within Project Ireland 2040, €25 million has been allocated to UCC to develop Cork University Business School in the heart of Cork city.
“We are very grateful to the Department of Education and Skills for this investment in Irish business education, and for the confidence expressed in UCC’s ability to deliver excellence in business education in support of the Irish economy” commented Professor Patrick O’Shea, President, UCC.

Professor Ursula Kilkelly Head of the College of Business and Law, UCC, commented on today’s announcement: “We welcome that the Government has decided to put substantial capital funding behind UCC’s significant ambition of developing a new, state-of-the-art home for Cork University Business School in the heart of Cork city. It is a great development for UCC, for Cork city and for the future generations of students, families and employers who will benefit locally, nationally and internationally.”
Cork University Business School will be located in the centre of Cork city between Copley Street and South Terrace, fronting on to Union Quay. The move to the centre of Cork city will position Cork University Business School at the heart of the business district, enhancing the social and economic fabric of the city and region. Cork University Business School will accommodate 4000 students and 200 staff.
