UCC reopens tomorrow (Mon, March 5)

Sunday afternoon, March 4: The remains of the snow

Sunday March 4, 4pm update: University College Cork will reopen tomorrow (Monday, March 5) and it is expected that normal business will resume at the University.

Cork city is in the throes of a major thaw today and frost is expected tonight. Students, staff and visitors are advised to take care on the roads and footpaths on their journey to UCC tomorrow and while on campus.

The Buildings and Estates team carried out safety assessments around the University today but everyone needs to take care on campus tomorrow as the ground, in places, may still be wet and slippery. For those who have to travel some distance, safety is paramount, and you should make a judgement call as to the advisability of travel.

The University buildings were heated during the bad weather so offices, lecture theatres, libraries and labs should be quite warm tomorrow.

The University Emergency Management Team hopes that you were all safe over the last few days and we look forward to the resumption of normal University life in the coming week.
