Cork Pride 2019
UCC Proudly Supports Cork Pride 2019
Running from 28 July to 4 August 2019, Cork Pride celebrates the LGBTQ+ community here in Cork. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York, when LGBT+ liberation struggle took a giant leap forward.
Join us in celebration at Cork Pride’s main event: the annual Pride Parade on Sunday 4 August. UCC LGBT+ Staff Network will be participating: we invite Allies and UCC staff to walk with us. We’ll be gathering at 12.30pm outside Electric bar on the South Mall. We’ll have the UCC banner: you can’t miss us!
The Parade sets off at 1pm and you can get full details at http://corkpride.com/event/pride-parade/.
Show your support for the LGBTQ+ community and get your marching shoes on! If you're interested in marching with us, just pop us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let us know. We'd love to see you there.
We’ll also be outside the Boole Library on Wednesday 31 July from 1-2pm, for anyone who wants their free UCC LGBT+ Rainbow Alliance pack including stickers, badges and lanyards. And you can also sign up to join the UCC Rainbow Alliance (https://www.ucc.ie/en/lgbtstaff/rainbowalliance/).
And come along to MakerDojo Rainbow Science at the Tyndall National Institute on Wednesday 31 July 2019 between 6.30-8.30pm. With Tyndall / UCC Student Chapter of OSA and SPIE and MakerDojo you’ll get a chance to make some toys and try out some experiments you can do at home, sometimes with things you can get in the corner shop, and some things you have to go to a little further for. For everyone from adults to Transition Year students!
