UCC School of Law will host the 13th annual Postgraduate Research Symposium on Environmental Law on Wednesday 19th April 2023. The Symposium will immediately precede the 19th annual Law and the Environment Conference to be held on Thursday 20th April 2023
UCC School of Law will host the 13th annual Postgraduate Research Symposium on Environmental Law on Wednesday 19th April 2023. The Symposium will immediately precede the 19th annual Law and the Environment Conference to be held on Thursday 20th April 2023.
It is intended to offer 12-15 postgraduate students the opportunity to present (for 20-30 minutes each) on any topic arising from their ongoing research. Papers are invited from researchers at any stage in their postgraduate project addressing any area of Environmental, Planning, Marine or Natural Resources Law, Policy, Regulation or Governance.
Though there is no budget to cover travel and accommodation expenses of presenters, we can offer free attendance at the main Law and the Environment 2023 event, which this year focuses on the theme ‘Environmental Law as Administrative Governance’ and promises a very exciting line up of international speakers and specialist sessions / topics. In exceptional cases, some limited financial support may be made available.
Those presenting at the Postgraduate Symposium are invited to attend the Speakers’ Dinner on Wednesday evening, which provides a unique opportunity to network with speakers and chairs from the Law and the Environment 2023 conference. In addition, several postgraduate papers will again be selected for publication in a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal.
A brief abstract should be submitted as early as possible, but by Friday 31st March 2023 at the latest, to o.mcintyre@ucc.ie. Please get in touch directly with any queries about the event.
