The DANUBIUS-RI is a distributed research infrastructure which aims to “achieve healthy River-Sea Systems and advance their sustainable use, in order to live within the planet’s ecological limits by 2050”.

In order to do so they search to collate information at different spatial and temporal scales, as well as across disciplines, avoiding to duplicate efforts and identify gaps of knowledge. This way, the holistic view obtained of the River-Sea Systems will enable a better understanding, necessary to address the sustainable use of the functions and services provided by the ecosystems but also to include the impacts derived from climate changes and extreme weather events. In the meeting, stakeholder’ needs were explored and match with a Research Infrastructure of the DANUBIUS-RI.
