In memory of Richard Lynn Thomas

Richard Thomas was a key member of the GEMS/Water programme team from its early days, contributing to its establishment and steering its growth and success into the 1990s, and until his retirement. 

He was an excellent scientist with a wealth of experience and knowledge as a limnologist, sedimentologist and ecotoxicologist. He was also a talented teacher and inspiring mentor, for young scientists and colleagues alike. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by the past and present GEMS/Water team.
