The Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy holds its first simulation session at the ASSERT Centre, UCC.
This week, our Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy were excited to complete their first simulation session in the ASSERT Centre, University College Cork, Ireland with our Year 1 Occupational Therapy students. Through simulated patient scenarios, students practiced communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills.

Organised by Jean Harrington, Caroline Booth and Sinead Moynihan, the overall goal of the workshop was to prepare students and build their confidence in advance of their first clinical placement. The workshop was a great success for the students, and all involved.
We look forward to our next workshop scheduled for the 23rd of March. A big thank you to the ASSERT Centre technicians for their expertise and to our wonderful facilitators - local clinicians and year 4 occupational therapy students - who made the workshop possible. A final thanks to the National Health & Social Care Professions Office (NHSCPO) who funded this initiative.
