Prof Margaret McGrath delivers her Inaugural Professorial Lecture

The recording of Prof McGrath's lecture is available now.
On Friday 18th April, Professor Margaret McGrath, from our School of Clinical Therapies, delivered her Inaugural Professorial Lecture, as part of CoMH's 2024/25 IPL Series.
All new professors are given the opportunity to give an inaugural professorial lecture. The series provides an opportunity for CoMH to celebrate our academics' achievements with each lecture representing a significant milestone in an academic's career.
Prof McGrath is Head of Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at University College Cork. A state registered Occupational Therapist, she has over 20 years of clinical and research experience working with adults and older people living with chronic disease and disability.
Professor McGrath's research has led to collaborations with consumer bodies to develop resources to support professionals to address sexuality in practice including an self-paced learning module Relationships Intimacy and Sexuality after Stroke supported by the Stroke Foundation Australia. She currently contributes as an invited expert to the Promoting Healthy Relationships and Sexuality led by the Health Service Executive Disability Quality Improvement Team.
Family, friends and colleagues joined Prof Helen Whelton, Prof Nicole Müller and Prof McGrath, both in person and online, for this excellent thought-provoking lecture.
It was a pleasure to celebrate this important academic milestone with Prof McGrath.
