'A Night on the Plaza' fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research @UCC will take place on Friday 21st July
Tickets are now on sale for the much-anticipated Night on the Plaza concert, taking place on Friday 21 July 2023.
UCC General Services, working with UCC Alumni and Development, present ‘A Night on the Plaza’, an open-air concert on UCC’s campus, celebrating the music and legacy of The Eagles with Dezperado, in aid of Cancer Research at UCC. Hosted by Elmarie Mawe (96fm), the concert will also feature rising stars Korey Power and Dylan Brickley.
Each year, a small group of volunteers from across UCC and An Garda Síochána’s Community Policing work together to raise the finances required, through sponsorship and advertising, to deliver a unique, fully-seated, open-air annual concert, while ensuring that partner beneficiary charities get the full benefit of monies raised from tickets sales. 'A Night on the Plaza' will be the first open-air concert to take place outside UCC's restored Honan Chapel. All proceeds will support our work in Cancer Research @UCC. Our goal is to save lives through innovative research programmes spanning the bench to the bedside and to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life.

Dezperado
After their successful sell out show in the Everyman on May 2022, Dezperado are back in Cork to recreate the legendry sound of The Eagles live from University College Cork. Performing the greatest hits from The Eagles, along with songs from the solo careers of Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmit, this show will also include a brass section to re-create the live experience as seen at The Eagles concerts. If you love The Eagles, then you will enjoy this show performed by Dezperado, a show not to be missed.

Dylan Brickley
Dylan Brickley is an emerging singer-songwriter from Cork. Having spent the past 10 years travelling all over Europe, Australia and Asia busking and playing music in bars, he has returned home to share his debut single ‘Close To You’.
Korey Power
Korey Power is an immensly popular Cork musician. He has released three chart topping singles and is currently working on some new music.
