Celebrating 10 years of programme delivery

On Tuesday 3rd February, UCC Bystander Intervention held the Bystander Intervention Conference, launching UCC Bystander Intervention week 2026.   The conference included though-provoking presentations on the challenging issues of pornography and Deep Fakes/AI from Ruth Breslin of The SERP Institute (Ireland) and Gillian Murphy and John Twomey of UCC School of Psychology. 

Ruth presented her critical work on “Understanding the role of pornography in the perpetration of gender-based violence” and Gillian and John gave their public presentation on their recently launched Tool Kit to reduce harmful engagement with AI-generated explicit images.
