Jonathan Leahy Maharaj joined UCC Academy in 2021, with a career that has spanned more than twenty years to date. He is a careful, passionate, considered and challenging designer with experience across a huge range of projects for a vast range of clients. Jonathan’s career spans more than 20 years, having worked on projects including branding for places, buildings, services & products, packaging, POS, advertising, online activity, websites and corporate design and strategies. ​

Graduating from Limerick School of Art and Design (B. Graph Des Hons.), he is an award-winning designer who received membership to the International Society of Typographic Designers while in LSAD and was also awarded the Student Designer of the Year while studying in Cork Institute of Technology (now MTU). Jonathan spent 14 years with the Department of Media Communications in CIT, designing and teaching modules in Design for Print, and Digital Imaging, giving him an extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the software & best practice used throughout the design industry.
