Dairygold Co-operative Society has awarded two undergraduate bursaries to students undertaking the Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree at UCC.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has renewed its accreditation of UCC’s BSc programmes in Chemistry, Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds and Chemistry with Forensics, and its MSc programmes in Analytical Chemistry.

The SFI Centre for Research Training in Advanced Networks for Sustainable Societies (ADVANCE CRT), with the support of Prof Cormac J. Sreenan, recently welcomed Dr Radia Perlman to University College Cork.

Professor Seamus Davis, School of Physics, UCC has received the American Physical Society’s Oliver E. Buckley Prize in Condensed Matter Physics at a ceremony in Las Vegas, an accolade that recognises 25 years of work and his development of quantum microscopes that allow direct atomic scale imaging of quantum matter existing within advanced materials.

UCC Innovation in collaboration with the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS) has launched a new digital badge in Innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) for Scientists and Engineers.

Senior representatives from Cadence Design Systems Inc., a pivotal global leader in electronic systems design and automation recently visited UCC to meet academics from the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science.  

Professor Barry O’Sullivan (Insight, CRT-AI and School of Computer Science & IT) attended the Responsible AI in the Military Domain (REAIM) Summit 2023 in support of INHR, a U.S. registered non-profit dedicated to improving access to the United Nations and enhancing the effectiveness of small and mid-sized states and NGOs.

UCC welcomed the President of Ireland, Michael D.Higgins, his wife Ms Sabina Higgins, and President of Malta, H.E. Dr George Vella, and his wife Mrs Miriam Vella to the university campus.

Engineering students at UCC are to benefit from the very latest state-of-the-art Electronic Design Automation lab which was officially opened by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mr Simon Coveney TD.
