UCC and Queen’s University Belfast have established Ireland’s first all-island network dedicated to delivering on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UCC School of Mathematical Sciences (Joint Hons with Physics) student and Mitchelstown native Adam Luddy was recently awarded with The Michael P. Mortell Scholarship in Applied Mathematics 2022. Adam was presented the award by Emeritus Professor Michael Mortell.

Fossil experts in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences are calling for children to enter the 2023 National Fossil Art Contest, with a grand prize of a fossil-hunting trip with real palaeontologists.  

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Prize in Organic Chemistry was recently launched at UCC. The prize is open to all students who have completed third year in Chemistry and consists of a €1,000 cash prize and commemorative medal.
