Congratulations to fourth year Microbiology student Ayomide Ajani who is this year's winner of The Mary Mulvihill Award, a science media competition for third-level students that commemorates the legacy of science journalist and author Mary Mulvihill (1959–2015). Ayomide won the top prize for a digital essay exploring the future of energy using science fiction literature. She is the first UCC student to win the award.

UCC research projects awarded over €5m in funding from Science Foundation Ireland
30 May 2023Seven UCC projects have been awarded a combined €5,464,481 in the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Frontiers for the Future programme. Funding of these research projects will address researcher funding gender imbalance and supporting researchers returning from leave.
