A workshop featuring twelve leading international researchers from seven different countries took place at the School of Mathematical Sciences.

Professor Marcel Jansen, School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences has been appointed to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Environmental Effects Assessment Panel (EEAP), one of three panels that informs the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on matters arising from ozone depletion, UV radiation and the interaction of climate change. 

Congratulations to Clarissa Somers who received the Musgrave award for Excellence in Food Microbiology.

The recent PhD conferrings were particularly special for three students who graduated with Joint Doctorates in Microbial Biotechnology from UCC and a European partner university.

Five Agricultural Science students represented UCC in the finals of The Great Agri-Food Debate in London, organised by Dawn Meats and McDonalds.

The annual Process and Chemical Engineering Awards provides a showcase for UCC’s engineering talent and rewards student achievement. The event demonstrates how the School of Engineering & Architecture has positioned proactive engagement with industry at the heart of its curriculum. 

A special reception was held to honour Professor Séamus Davis, School of Physics, on receiving the American Physical Society’s Oliver E. Buckley Prize in Condensed Matter Physics.
